Duvan E. Goins, 66, a resident of Elk Haven in St. Marys and formerly of 324 Haines St., Kane, and Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 9, 1943, in Sylvania, Ohio, son of the late William and Bertha Bean Goins. On Dec. 9, 1967, in Swanton, Ohio, he married Joyce Houttekier, who survives. He attended Sylvania Schools and was a retired employee of Eastern Sintered Alloys. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1961 to 1966. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dawn Lombrana and her husband, Ramiro of Johnsonburg, and Juanica Blankenship and her husband, Dwayne of Kane; seven grandchildren, Tiera Lombrana, Ariana Lombrana, Corrissa Goins, Cody Blankenship, Shyannae Blankenship, Noah Blankenship and Mackenzie Blankenship; three brothers, Wayne Goins of Swanton, Ohio, Gary Goins of Toledo, Ohio, and Dennis Goins of Toledo, Ohio. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister at birth, Carol Ann Goins and by a brother Dexter Goins. Full Military rites for Duvan Goins will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, Center Street, on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Visitation will follow at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by services at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Kent officiating.
