Virginia M. Hartland

Virginia M. Hartland, 96, of Ridgmont Assisted Living, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1917 in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Harry and Flora Rogers Kirk.
She married Merlin Hartland, who predeceased her on May 2, 2000.
Mrs. Hartland resided in Ridgway all of her life. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir for 54 years. She was a sales clerk at Cliffe's for many years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing the organ.
She is survived by eight children, Mary Kay Struffolino (Ron) of Cary, N.C., Mike Hartland (Linda) of Ridgway, Gail Castafero (Rich) of Springfield, Ray Hartland (Diane) of Greensburg, John Hartland (Ruth) of Cary, N.C., Janet Eachus of Woodstown, N.J., Jane Skraba (Tim) of Ridgway, and Barb Miszaros (Arnie) of Gulfport, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson in infancy.
Funeral services for Virginia M. Hartland will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Roger A. Peterson, pastor.
Interment will be in Thayer Memorial Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 6-9 p.m.
