Visitor Center to double tourism at Kinzua Bridge State Park
MT. JEWETT – Ground will be broken this summer for an elaborate Visitor Center at the Kinzua Bridge State Park near Mt. Jewett.Linda Devlin, executive director of the Bradford-based Allegheny National Forest (ANF) Visitors Bureau, can't wait."I'm really excited this project is moving forward," Devlin said Wednesday. "It's the next step for development at the park."Devlin was a key participant at a four-hour "open house" held Wednesday to give the public the opportunity to help plan interpretive exhibits at the center. More than 100 attended the forum at the Mt. Jewett Fire Hall. The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) hosted the event.Devlin said the new "Skywalk" at the state park has boosted the number of annual visitors to more than 160,000.
