Wallace David Clark Sr., died Friday, July 19, 2013.
He was born August 2, 1920 in Brockway.
He was a decorated WWII veteran with the U.S. Army as a survivor of five major battles and several missions during the war and was honorably discharged from the service at the rank of sergeant.
He was a retired employee of Stackpole Carbon Company of St. Marys and Elk County at the Ridgway Courthouse. He served as constable in Fox Township and as a volunteer firefighter for Fox Township in Kersey.
He is survived by a son, Wallace Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va.; four grandchildren, David Clark of Oak Ridge, Tenn, Kristen Clark of Ruther Glen, Va., and Heather Clark and Michael Clark of Knoxville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ian, and Ameila; two sisters, Violet Preston of Munderf and JoAnn Davis of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; and a brother, Willard Clark of Brockport. He is also survived by longtime friend Kathleen "Boots" Young of St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen E. Kalgren Clark; and a daughter, Peggy.
Funeral Services for Wallace David Clark Sr. will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway with Pastor Faith Bryan officiating.
Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway.
