Weidow vehicle homicide trial continues

June 25, 2014

RIDGWAY – The trial for Brandon Michael Weidow, 26, of Byrnedale, reconvened Wednesday morning at the Elk County Courthouse.
Weidow is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence for his alleged involvement in the crash that killed Savannah Straub in July 2012. In Tuesday's opening remarks, both attorneys advised that the key question in the case is whether Weidow was driving the vehicle on the night of the crash.
On Wednesday, the Commonwealth's first witness was Dr. Eric Bey, a forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy of Savannah Straub. With no objection from the defense, Bey was accepted as an expert witness.
