William E. "Butch" Preston

William E. "Butch" Preston, 62, of 1078 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly while hunting on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 in Brookville.
He was born March 3, 1949 in DuBois, a son of the late William and Caroline Dixon Preston. On Aug. 22, 1974 in Johnsonburg, he married Patricia Catalano Preston, who survives.
He graduated from Brookville High School, class of 1968. He served in the US Army from 1975-1979 and worked at Morgan AM&T for more than 32 years. He was a member of the St. Marys Sportsmen's Club and greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting trees around his home. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. 
In addition to his wife of 37 years, Patricia Catalano Preston, he is survived by a son, Jonathon Preston and his wife Angel of Reminderville, Ohio; a daughter, Nicole Lenze of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Lucas Lenze, Jared Lenze and Cody Preston; six sisters, Clair, Mrs. Ed Preston of Punxsutawney, Mary "Mae" Preston of Punxsutawney, Rose, Mrs. David Wolfe, Richardsville, Barb Donahue of Summerville, Nancy, Mrs. Robert Laudone of Bradford, R.I., and Rebecca, Mrs. Herbert Pennington of Troy; a brother, James Shields and his wife Cathy of Summerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Helen and Blair "Red" Shields, who helped raise him.
Funeral services for William "Butch" Preston will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael Street, St. Marys, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Visitation will be at the Lynch- Green Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon from 2-5 p.m..
