William J. Mills

William J. Mills, 62, of 234 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, died at the home of his son in Chambersburg on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 surrounded by his family following a very courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 30, 1950 in St. Marys, a son of the late Richard and Grace Hammer Mills.
On January 11, 1974 in St. Marys, he married Penny Bauer Mills, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from St. Marys Area High School. He was a graduate of Lock Haven University and retired as Vice-President of CNB Bank after many years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His granddaughters were the love and light of his life, and he greatly enjoyed spending time with them.  He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and gardening.
In addition to his wife of nearly 40 years, Penny Bauer Mills, he is survived by a daughter, Laura, Mrs. Randall Geitner of Frederick, Md.; a son, Andrew Mills and his wife Kim of Chambersburg; three granddaughters, Kayla, Tori and Sara; and two sisters, Constance, Mrs. Frank Sadley of St. Marys, and Gertrude "Trudy" Mills of Ebensburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Mills, who preceded him in death in 2010.
Funeral Services for William J. Mills will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael Street, St. Marys, on Friday, June 7, at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
