Winifred S. Stockdill

Winifred S. Stockdill, 83, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of Johnsonburg and Wilcox, died on Saturday evening, March 5, 2011, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Aug. 20, 1927, in Alcola-Fairmont City, daughter of the late Homer L. and Lena Bowser Adams.
On Sept. 18, 1946, she married Arthur E. Stockdill, who preceded her in death on March 18, 1974.
She was a resident of Pinecrest Manor for the past year, and had lived in Silver Creek Terrace for nine years, Johnsonburg for 10 years and Wilcox for 30 years. She graduated from New Bethlehem High School in 1945, was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Wilcox, and the Johnsonburg Senior Center. She was employed by the St. Marys Market Basket Store for 29 years, retiring in 1993. She had also worked at the Johnsonburg Market Basket for several years and Deibler's Grocery Store in Wilcox for several years.
She is survived by four daughters, Marsha H., Mrs. Gene Miles of Brockway, Deborah S., Mrs. Thomas Miller of Wilcox, Karen R., Mrs. Frederick Kilhoffer of Wilcox, Jody D., Mrs. William Smith of Johnsonburg; nine grandchildren, Renee Morelli, Shane and Michael Miles, Gregory Felmlee, Kelly Nicklas, Diana Crosby, Amy Zimmerman, Carey Dunworth and Julie Ribovic; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry L. Adams and his wife Eileen of Surprise, AZ.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Stockdill and a grandson, Todd Miller.
A funeral service for Winifred Stockdill will be held at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Hollertz, Pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Wilcox, officiating. Interment will be in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
