Rebecca Bauer Towne, 48, of 307 Cook Ave., Ridgway, died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following injuries received in an automobile accident in Clearﬁeld County.
She was born Nov 2, 1964 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Clarence "Lefty" and Phyllis Ford Bauer.
She was married to David Towne, who survives.
Becky was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1982. She worked at 97.5 the Hound for many years as the station manager and also had a mid-day show. She was lovingly known as "BT" for her radio personality. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Desirea Towne of Monaca and
Kadiy Towne Wolfe of Ridgway; one son, Weston Towne, at home; two grandchildren, Clare and Lucas Wolfe; two sisters, Elinor "Nora" Bachelder of Maryland and Wanda, Mrs. Robert Gabler of Camp Hill; one brother, Daryl "DJ" Bauer of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of Rebecca Bauer Towne are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, on Church Street in St. Marys, on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at noon with Rev. Frank Black, as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
