Brenda L. Boyer, 56, of West Sherman Avenue, DuBois, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Oct. 15, 1957 in DuBois, daughter of the late Theodore E. and Betty J. (Bell) Chiodo.
On Aug. 11, 1979, she married James C. Boyer, he survives.
She was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1975.
She served many years with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including PennDOT secretary to the Elk/McKean County manager and most recently SCI Forest as secretary to the superintendent.
She was a lifelong and active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, serving as CCD teacher and member of the cemetery board. Brenda especially enjoyed weaving (some award-winning) rugs and crocheting.
Having her upbringing in Force, she lived many years in Penfield and the past five years in DuBois.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Boyer of DuBois; was the devoted mother to three children, Christine L. Boyer of Lebanon, Ohio, Kelly A. Boyer of DuBois, and Thomas J. Boyer of DuBois; two brothers, Thomas Chiodo of Oakridge, N.J., and Barry Chiodo of St. Marys; and one sister, Theodora Craven of Hazen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Brenda L. Boyer will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Force, with Father Thomas Tyler celebrant.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, and Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Joseph Church Cemetery Fund.
