Once again the St. Marys Area High School hosted their annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday afternoon. Numerous veterans from each branch of the Armed Forces were on hand as honored guests sitting onstage at the ceremony.
New this year to the ceremony was the acknowledgement of veterans related to students and staff. Joe Schlimm, SMAHS vice-principal, recited a list of the 121 school district family members who have had relatives serve in the military and their relationship to the veteran. Schlimm's presentation was accompanied by a military video and music.
"The St. Marys Area School District extends our gratitude to all the members of our alumni and our community for their service to our country," Schlimm said.
