Mary E. Breakey, 89, of 46 Freedom Dr., Wilcox, died Friday evening, March 14, 2014 at Kane Community Hospital in Kane following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Spangler, daughter of the late Aaron and Laura Moyer Folmar.
On June 29, 1946 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married LaVerne E. Breakey; he preceded her in death on July 21, 2009.
She resided in the Johnsonburg-Wilcox area since her marriage. She graduated from Spangler High School in 1943. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her grandchildren, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.
She had worked at the Johnsonburg A&P Store and Grant's in St. Marys.
She is survived by one son, Karl A. Breakey and his wife Michelle of Johnsonburg; five daughters, Donna, Mrs. Ken Hinton of Ridgway, Darla, Mrs. Ted Klark of DuBois, Kathy FinGado of St. Marys, Melissa, Mrs. Steve Smith of St. Marys, and Bev, Mrs. Denis Mowrey, of Warren; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Leslie of Elmora.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Folmar and Joe Sherry; and four sisters, Inez Lobick, Vera Sherry, Betty Dindos and Ruth Folmar.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary E. Breakey will be conducted Tuesday, March 18 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David Wilson, pastor. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
