Carl G. Lecker, 56, of 160 Averyville Rd., St. Marys, died on Saturday evening, Feb. 12, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 4, 1954 in St. Marys, a son of the late Albert J. and Naomi Halpin Lecker.
On Nov. 26, 1977 in St. Mary's Church, he married Stephanie Eckert Lecker, who survives.
He was a graduate of ECCHS, Class of 1972. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1976 and had been a member of the American Legion. He was an avid Steelers fan and also enjoyed the Pittsburgh Penguins. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his pets and was a member of the St. Mary's Church.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by two daughters, Mandy Lecker and her companion, Tim Pohorence of Erie, and Jennie Lecker of St. Marys; a brother, David Lecker and his wife Judy of Washington; a sister, Mary Kay, Mrs. George Kim of Georgia; a goddaughter, Morgan Williamson of St Marys; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Lecker, in 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Carl G. Lecker will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Wednesday at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, OSB, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A military service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
