Dennis P. Galmish, 60, of 124 Skyline Dr., Kersey, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born in St. Marys on Aug. 28, 1950, son of the late William and Margaret Prechtel Galmish. On June 25, 1970, in the St. Boniface Church, he married Linda Geyer, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1968. He was employed by Keystone Powdered Metal Co.
Mr. Galmish was a hunter and his favorite times were shared with family and friends at the camp which he and his family built. He also enjoyed working in his garage. He and his wife enjoyed 40 years of marriage, raising three children and spoiling six grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tracy (Mike) Tyger of Kersey and Cindy (Rob) Jaconski of Treasure Lake; a son, Leo Joseph (Danielle) of Kersey; six grandchildren, Branden Tyger, Alexx Tyger, Stephanie Tyger, Jeweleea Tyger, Cody Jaconski and Ethan Galmish; a sister, Paula Galmish of St. Marys; and two brothers, Ken Galmish of Kane and Dick (Deb) Galmish of St. Marys.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a newborn son, Edward; a sister, Linda Stewart; and by six nieces and nephews.
Family and friends of Dennis P. Galmish are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. James Faluszczak, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to a favorite charity.
