M. Jean Gigliotti, 82, of 101 North Mill St., Ridgway, and formerly of Wilcox, died Saturday morning, March 26, 2011 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a short illness.
She was born March 2, 1929, daughter of Raymond and Mary Anderson McConnell.
She married Robert Fowler on March 14, 1946 and he died in 2002. She married Natale Gigliotti and he died April 5, 1992.
She resided in Ridgway for three years and Allentown for 20 years. She attended Harding Jr. High School in Philadelphia.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Johnsonburg, the Wilcox Legion Auxillary and was the Poppy Day Chairlady for 30 years.
She was employed by Fowler Beer Distributor for 30 years, Stackpole Carbon Co. for 10 years, and Cotter & Company in Philadelphia and Allentown for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, one son, five stepdaughters and a stepson, Patricia J. Fowler of Ridgway, Kathleen M. Rickard and her husband James of Johnsonburg, Robert W. Fowler Jr. and his wife Joyce of Dahoga, Connie Portzer and her husband Richard of DuBois, Mary Gigliotti of Lancaster, Marie Rosenhoover and her husband Jerry of Ridgway, Fortunata (Chubby) Price of St. Petersburg, Katherine Woodbury of Florida, and Michael Gigliotti and his wife Teresa of Rancho Cucamunga, Calif; five grandchildren, Shatara Fowler, Rhianon Fowler, David Alaskey, Tim Alaskey and his wife Michele, and Mary Ellen and Jim Burlington; 21 step grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Joshua Calla and Nadia Wilson; numerous step great grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Bilotta of Philadelphia, Connie Wissman and her husband Harry of Panama City, Fla. and Joan Laurantis and her husband Raymond of Philadelphia; and a brother, Norman McConnell and his wife Marge of Media.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Marie McConnell; a son, Robert Fowler in infancy; two sisters, Marie Mattis and Teresa Kaminski; a brother, Raymond W. McConnell; a stepdaughter, Carol Scuglia; and a stepson, Mickey Scuglia.
Funeral services for M. Jean Gigliotti will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Johnsonburg at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. Kenneth Thompson, pastor.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
