Nora Regina Carpin, 94, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce, Fla.
Born in Ridgway, Nora was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 33 years, moving from Kersey.
Before retirement, Nora was an elementary and remedial reading teacher with the St. Marys Area School District.
Her husband, Thomas A. Carpin, superintendent of schools for the St. Marys Area School District, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Brent Carpin and his wife Beverly of Port St. Lucie, Fla,; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Carpin and his wife Shirley of Frisco, Texas, Christopher Carpin and his wife Kimberly of Erie, and Kathleen Walsh and her husband Rob of Vero Beach, Fla.; two step-grandchildren, Christina Lozano and her husband Michael and Michael Carpin and his wife Michelle, all of Erie; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Charles, Allison, Michael, Daniel, Nicholas; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Olyvia.
Friends of Nora Regina Carpin may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., Erie, on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
