Dorothy P. "Dotty" Andres, 85, recently of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 1228 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the home following a brief illness.
She was born September 19, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Norman and Margaret Frantz Muth. On April 9, 1946 in New Orleans, La., she married the late Roger A. Andres, who preceded her in death on January 29, 1994.
Mrs. Andres was a member of Queen of the World Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She worked for many years at Loblaw's in St. Marys, at Sylvania in Emporium and also in the school cafeteria at Queen of the World. She enjoyed quilting and making fudge. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her friends and cherished the friendship they shared throughout the years. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a son, Dennis P. Andres and his wife Charlene of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Dennis Andres Jr., Michelle, Mrs. David Feidler, Melissa, Mrs. Timothy Van Slander, Timothy Andres and his wife Jody; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Feidler, Candace Andres, Rachael Van Slander, and Trevor Andres; four step-great-grandchildren, David Feidler, Jamie Van Slander, Robert Davila, and Brittany Davila; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Farmer of Washington, and Margie Muth of Ohio; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Muth; and three brothers, Harold, Arthur, and Burnell Muth.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy P. "Dotty" Andres will be celebrated at the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Rd., on Friday, August 19 at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, and the Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as concelebrants.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
