Elk County Commissioners on Tuesday approved a budget revision for the Elk County Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program and Narrative.
"This is a follow-up revision from one that we did roughly 60 days ago," said Richard Gavazzi, a housing and program specialist for the county's planning department. "As we're nearing the end of the grant program, budget revisions need to be made to allocate the final program dollars through each specific category."
The revision involves alterations to the Integrated Disbursement and Information System [IDIS] "to identify the specific program or category that the funds were moved to."
"We actually had four categories and have now gone to six categories," Gavazzi said. "DCED [Pa. Department of Community and Economic Development] and the staff there assisted us with those revisions as well. Some of the other allocations in moving funds was through administrating staff; we also moved money into financial assistance for both homeless prevention and homeless assistance, and we reduced salary line items and with these moves we believe we can wrap up the services for clients and complete the program.
"All in all, those were the only two changes within the past 60 days that we've had. Everything is on track to be spent by May 31, 2012. There were no revisions needed within the data collection, evaluation or administration. "
