James A. Neubert Jr., 66, of Erie, formerly of St. Marys, died at his home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
Born in St. Marys on November 5, 1944, he was the son of the late James A. and Victoria Kornacki Neubert Sr.
He married Josephine "Josie" Martin Neubert, who preceded him in death in 2003.
He was a graduate of Tech High and served 33 years in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps with tours in Vietnam, Operation Enduring Freedom and the War on Terror until 2005.
He had worked at G.E. and as a cook at the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse and Independence Court.
Jim enjoyed family and cooking and was a Browns fan. He was also a member of the C.Y.S. Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years ; a sister, Sandra Neubert; and a brother, Ted Neubert.
Surviving are three sons, James A. Neubert III and his wife Linda of Denver, Colo., Daniel Neubert and his wife Amy, and Christopher Neubert and his wife Michele, all of Erie; a brother, Ronald Neubert and his wife Mary Lou, of Meadville; four grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Christian and Hope Neubert; and several nieces and nephews.
Services for James A. Neubert Jr. will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP, Pine Ave. Branch, 845 East 38th at Pine Ave., Erie, with a Funeral Mass held at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
