Leona L. (Gagliardi) Hasselman, of St. Marys, died at her home, on Saturday, December 10, 2011 following an illness of the past nine months.
She was born on Apr 22, 1941 in Force, a daughter of the late Antonio and Sophia Black Gagliardi.
On July 16, 1964, she married the late James S. Hasselman, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2000.
Mrs. Hasselman was a graduate of the Bennetts Valley High School and was a lifelong resident of the area. She retired in 2000 from Sylvania after more than 36 years of service. She enjoyed music, dancing and playing Scrabble. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa, Mrs. James "Jim" Dunmire of St. Marys; one son, James Hasselman and his wife Dusty of Erie; four grandchildren, Amber Dunmire and her ﬁance Ben Franco, Heather, Mrs. Jason John, Olivia Dunmire and Logan Hasselman. She is also survived by two sisters, Dolores McCue of Butler and Linda Dornish of St. Marys; two brothers, Victor Gagliardi of California and Louis Gagliardi of St. Marys, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dominic and Leo Gagliardi and three sisters, Edith Ann Ott, Eva Catalone and Jean Raspatello.
A Funeral Service for Leona L. Hasselman will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael Street, St. Marys, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dwayne Burﬁeld, ofﬁciating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
