Mary T. Stubber, 88, formerly of 180 Queens Rd., St. Marys, died on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at the Sara A. Todd Nursing Home in Carlisle after living with Alzheimer's for many years.
She was born September 15, 1923 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Michael and Helena Biszak Ausserer.
On November 27, 1948 in St. Marys Church, she married the late John J. Stubber, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 20, 1988.
Mrs. Stubber graduated from St. Marys High School. She served in the U.S. Marines in Washington, DC during WW II. She worked in the ofﬁce at Speer Carbon, then after raising her family, she worked for many years and retired from Powder Metal Products. She was a member of Queen of the World Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Victoria, Mrs. James Whitmore of Carlisle and Constance, Mrs. David Senkowski of Orange Park, FL; one son,
John J. Stubber, Jr. and his wife Jill of Aliquippa; five grandchildren Thomas and Joseph Whitmore, Scott and Daniel Senkowski and Joshua Stubber; three sisters, Anna Laird of St. Marys, Alice Schloder of St. Marys and Betty Fleming of St. Marys.
Mrs. Stubber was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Leonard and Joseph Ausserer and two sisters, Angela in 1919 and Helen Krug in 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary T. Stubber will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, on
Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at noon with Rev. Michael Ferrick, Pastor, as Celebrant.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
