Edith P. Zambanini, 103, of Ridgway, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Elk Haven Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Byrnedale, the daughter of the late Arthur and Angeline Ronca Busatto. On July 5, 1925, she married Senatore Zambanini; he predeceased her in 1980.
She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casino.
She is survived by three children, Arthur Zambanini (Nora Jean) of Ridgway, Betty Gapinski (Bernard) of Johnsonburg, and Edward Zambanini (Vera) of Kersey; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a step-great-granddaughter; four great-great-grandchildrenl; three great-great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Westover of Blufftin, S.C., and Betty Brostek of Tuscon, Ariz.
In addition to her parents and loving husband of 55 years, she was predeceased by four brothers and six sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial and committal services for Edith P. Zambanini will be celebrated in St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:30 am. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Kersey. Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A wake service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8:45 p.m.
