Kickoff slated for 1:30 p.m.
The Elk County Catholic Crusader football team opens their 2012 season Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. when they play host to the Smethport Hubbers at Dutch Country Stadium.
This will be an inter-division contest in the Allegheny Mountain League.
The Crusaders of coach Travis Skrzypek ended their 2011 season with a 6-3 record.
The Crusaders won their first two games of the 2011 season by defeating Cameron County 19-6 and Otto-Eldred 48-0. Elk lost to Coudersport by a 12-7 score before recording wins over Port Allegany 25-19, Johnsonburg 34-0 and Kane 13-6.
Elk Catholic lost a tough 42-41 double-overtime contest to the Brockway Rovers. Elk lost to Curwensville 38-6 before closing out their regular season with a 7-0 victory over the Ridgway Elkers. The Crusaders lost a tough 22-20 contest to the Clarion Bobcats in the first round of the District 9-A playoffs last year.
The Smethport Hubbers finished their 2011 season with a 2-7 record.
