Dolores L. Cuneo, 81, of Madison Street, Byrnedale, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 16, 1931 in Byrnedale, daughter of the late John and Mary (Darui) DeCarli.
On Aug. 7, 1971, she married Wayne E. Cuneo of Byrnedale, who survives.
Dolores lived all her life in her family home in Byrnedale. She graduated as the valedictorian of Bennetts Valley High School, Class of 1949, and retired from Stackpole Carbon of St. Marys in 1977 after 28 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, where she was active in the Prayer Chain. She was a former Girl Scout volunteer and served on the board of Byrnedale Homes Assoc. and the Bennetts Valley Senior Center as secretary for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and word search puzzles.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Denise Cuneo-Snyder and her husband Stacey of Byrnedale; a granddaughter, Elodie Snyder; a brother, John DeCarli of Byrnedale; and a sister, Gloria Bateman of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Jean Cornelio, Irene Schloder, Rose Petrosky and a sister in infancy; and a brother in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores L. Cuneo will be held at 10 a.m. on September 15, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, with Father Thomas Tyler officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Force.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. and Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.
