RIDGWAY - A St. Marys man convicted of 189 counts of burglary and related charges stemming from a multitude of burglaries committed at camps throughout Elk, McKean, and Cameron counties was sentenced Monday in Elk County Court to serve no less than 11 years, 3 months and no more than 30 years in state prison.
Daniel Aiello, 27, of St. Marys, was convicted of the charges against him in August by a 12-member jury following a three-day trial which included testimony from victimized camp owners, investigators, Aiello's stepfather, and Aiello's half-brother and alleged accomplice, Mark Paul Kimes Aiello.
Mark Paul Kimes Aiello, 20, testified that over a period of 13 months beginning in November 2010, he and Daniel Aiello forced entry into camps and stole items including power tools, taxidermied and mounted game, and a four wheeler.
Kimes Aiello said that some of the items were stored at Aiello's St. Marys home and those he retained were sold through an internet auction website.
