Dorothy M. Thompson, 75, of 80 Blue Ridge Dr., Levittown, and formerly of St. Marys, died at her home following a brief illness on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 15, 1936 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Edna Shobert Hess.
She was a member of Weedville Wesleyan Church in her early years. She had worked as a computer programmer since 1991. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Jolonda Thompson of Bristol, Debbie Scott of Virginia, and Jackie, Mrs. LaVern Daniels of Bensalem; a son, Gary Thompson of Bensalem; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nancy Thompson of Levittown, Shirley, Mrs. Charles Mitchell of Fairless Hills, Edna Painter of New York, and Mildred Eval of New Jersey; a brother, Donald Hess and his wife Gertrude of Peoria, Ill.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Gilbert, Leanna Wilhelm, Geraldine Beck and Thelma Hess in infancy; and four brothers, George, John, Willard and Kenneth Hess.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Dorothy M. Thompson which will be held at the Weedville Wesleyan Church today at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Luther Nelson, pastor, ofﬁciating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
