Michael L. Stumpff, 60, of Hudson, N.C., died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 after a short illness.
He was born November 1, 1952 in St. Marys, son of Valery J. Stumpff and the late Harry G. Stumpff of Emporium and later Altoona.
He graduated from Cameron County High School in 1970 and attended St. Bonaventure University, graduating in 1974 with a B.A. degree in Economics.
He worked for Stackpole Carbon Co. in St. Marys and Farmville, Va., Carbone of America in Boonton, N.J., ICM Krebsoge in Van Wert, Ohio, and GKN Sintered Metals at various U.S. locations. In 2002 he founded Taweret LLC, a management consulting and sales company, of which he was managing director until his death.
He was a member of the Hickory, N.C. Lions Club and Rotary Club, and was also involved in the local United Way fund.
In addition to his mother, Valery J. Stumpff of Altoona, he is survived by a brother, Edward Stumpff of St. Marys; a sister, Mary Garman of Smithfield, K.Y.; two daughters, Monica Yudron of Cambridge, Mass. and Amanda Trivett of Orlando, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Abigail Trivett and Sofia Santillana-Yudron.
A memorial service for Michael L. Stumpff will be observed at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Altoona.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made in his name to the charity of one's choice.
