Marilyn Schatz, 59, of Shaffers Crossing, Colo., passed away May 31, 2013 after an eight year battle with brain cancer.
Marilyn was born and raised in St. Mary to Gerard and Verna Eckert and attended the St. Marys Parochial School, Catholic middle school and high school until she moved to Massillon, Ohio at age 16, where she lived with her sister and attended Washington High School.
At age 18 she married David Fisher, but later divorced before moving to Colorado in 1975. Marilyn met her husband, James, in Evergreen, Colo. through mutual friends and they later married May 13, 1978. They just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary last month.
Marilyn enjoyed riding horses, hunting, and camping. She also raised goats, chickens, and livestock on her and her spouse's 27 acre property.
She is survived by her loving husband James Schatz and three daughters Jamie Schatz, Suzanne Connors, and Lindsay Borgers, all of Denver.
A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Evergreen Memorial Park Office Chapel. Services will be held starting with a visitation at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 6, with service at 11a.m., at The Barn Chapel followed by interment and reception.
