Community Scavenger Hunt under way

CNB Bank, in conjunction with the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce and the Elk County Catholic High School (ECCHS) art department, recently kicked off its Community Scavenger Hunt.As part of the event, participants must locate 15 wooden canvases designed and painted by ECCHS juniors and seniors, all featuring a firework or patriotic theme. Fifteen area businesses are displaying the canvases. Each participant who find and identifies all 15 canvases by the deadline will be entered into the savings bond drawing. The hunt will conclude on Friday, Sept. 2, when the winner will be announced and presented with a $1,000 savings bond. In order to participate in the scavenger hunt, participants are required to be at least 18 years of age, with only one entry per household. Those interested in registering for the summer-long event must visit one of the two CNB offices located at 133 Washington St. in downtown St. Marys or at 1104 Million Dollar Hwy. near Wal-Mart, or the Chamber office. Registration is free and participants will be asked to sign a release form.Upon registration, participants receive clues for the hunt, which lead them to the 15 businesses. After locating each canvas, participants should record the title of the painting on their form. Completed forms should then be returned to the above-mentioned bank locations.
