Mildred M. "Nan" Salter

Mildred M. "Nan" Salter, 72, of 113 E. Condot Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.She was born June 3, 1939 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Anthony "Tony" and Mildred Aiello Asti.On January 25, 1958, in Holy Rosary Church, she married the late James B. Salter, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2002.Mrs. Salter was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the St. Mary's Church.  She worked for many years at St. Marys Carbon. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had always enjoyed getting together with her friends for lunch.She is survived by three daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Frank Denio of St. Marys, Debbie, Mrs. Brian Dippold of St. Marys, Nanette, Mrs. Eric Wolfe of St. Marys, and Leah, Mrs. Michael Whiteman of St. Marys; eight grandchildren, Ray Miller, Jim Miller and his wife Missy, Rachel Dippold, Jennifer, Mrs. William Thorwart, David and Devin Whiteman, and John and Ashley Denio; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Cooper Thorwart; three sisters, Lucille Haight of St. Marys, Dorothy Lindenmuth of Hisperia, Calif., and Delores Fulton of Florida; three brothers, Anthony "Butch" Asti and his wife Sandy of Ridgway, Julian "Bud" Asti and his wife Rita of St. Marys, and Dennis Asti and his wife Janice of Johnsonburg; and a brother-in-law, Jerome "Butch" Salter and his wife Rose of St. Marys. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Theresa Croyle, Frances Mecca, and Evelyn Danner; and one brother, Frank Asti.A Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred M. "Nan" Salter will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 12 p.m., with Fr. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic CemeteryVisitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N.
