New property is key to city's bridge project

St. Marys City Council approved the purchase of a Brusselles Street property as part of a bridge construction project providing access from the street to the city's parking garage on Depot Street and the future Elk Creek Park in downtown St. Marys.
The properly located at 263 Brusselles St. contains a residential home and is owned by Bruce Gerber. The sale price was $82,000.
City Manager Tim Pearson said he is unsure as to when work will begin on the site consisting of building demolition and clearing the lot. The city received bond funding for the project.
