JOHNSONBURG – Now in its eighth year, the Polar Sweet Express continues to grow each year helping raise much needed funds for the Citizens Against Physical, Sexual, and Emotional Abuse (CAPSEA) organization.
At the one-stop shopping experience for Valentine's Day, visitors can peruse the wide variety of over 50 vendors offering unique gifts, sample adult beverages from Straub Brewery and wine tastings by Elk Mountain Winery and Wilcox Winery and visit the chocolate dipping station sponsored by Elk County Foods.
Once again this year's event is taking place at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission to the event is free for those bringing an item off the CAPSEA shelter's wish list available at www.capsea.org.
Those contributing a wish list item to the event are entered into a drawing for various prizes including a 55-inch 4K high-definition smart television and a 12-volt Mini Cooper children's ride-on car.
New this year is a change to the basket raffle. Rather than setting up a large display featuring all the baskets, visitors are encouraged to stop by vendors' tables who will have their prize basket displayed. Basket raffle tickets will continue to be sold at the registration table at the entrance of the event.
Twelve new vendors have been added to this year's event.
