Supervisors discuss Act 167 issues

At their recent meeting, the Jay Township Supervisors faced the task of selecting their choice for the organization that will provide engineering and technical assistance to municipalities within the county as they work to establish a stormwater management ordinance to comply with Pa. Act 167. Jay Township is partnering with Jones, Highland, Horton and Spring Creek townships and Johnsonburg Borough, and each municipality was asked to choose between two different bidders, with the bidder receiving the majority of the votes approved to serve all of the municipalities. "This is just the engineering firm that we're all going to use instead of each one having a different engineering firm. [The cost will be] split between us. We're trying to save some money on it," said supervisor Francis Gustafson. Bids were received from E&M Engineers and Surveyors PC in the amount of $5,500 and from The EADS Group in the amount of $4,050. The supervisors unanimously voted to approve the bid of The EADS Group. For more on this story, see the Dec. 17 edition of The Daily Press.
