Teresa Weidenboerner

Teresa Weidenboerner, 76, of 200 Bayberry Rd., St. Marys, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 21, 1936 in Kersey, daughter of the late Henry and Theresa Jaeger Holtzhauser. On Sept. 9, 1974 in Frederick, Md., she married Andrew J. Weidenboerner, who survives. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1954. She also graduated from the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Erie in 1957. She retired as a registered nurse and was a former nursing supervisor at Elk Regional Health Center and was a former nursing director at Pinecrest Manor. Mrs. Weidenboerner was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. She was one of 13 children of the Holtzhauser family, which was named the Archbishop Gannon Family of the Year in 1951 by the Diocese of Erie. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Ann Mallison and her husband Thomas of State College; a stepson, Andrew J. Weidenboerner Jr. and his wife Kristina of Centennial, Colo.; four grandchildren, Emma Mallison, Michael Mallison, Sam Mallison, and Owen Weidenboerner; and four sisters, Pauline Calla and her husband John of Johnsonburg, Margaret Ehrensberger of Franklin, Tenn., Helen Laird and her husband LeRoy of St. Marys, and Germaine Jacob and her husband Frank of St. Marys.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Ann Holtzhauser, Mary Kornacki, Cecelia Mosier, Jeanne Mawn, and Agnes Dahlkemper; and three brothers, James Holtzhauser, Raymond Holtzhauser, and Thomas Holtzhauser. A Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa A. Weidenboerner will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
