U.S. Congressman Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-5) spoke to a small but enthusiastic group in Emporium Wednesday afternoon along his campaign trail. The Aroma Cafe in Emporium, which hosted the event, was one of several stops on Thompson's route for the day which ended at the Red Fern in Kersey.
These stops are part of what he calls his "Great American Comeback Tour."
"Once every two years, I try to do this thing where we hit all 16 counties in just a couple days," he said.
Before arriving in Emporium, Thompson started out in his home in Centre County, then had breakfast at Old Antlers in Gaines in Tioga County and then had the "first lunch" in Keytee's Family Restaurant in Coudersport.
Following the Aroma Cafe appearance, Thompson toured the Straub Brewery before a manufacturing roundtable at the Red Fern and ended the evening with what he calls "Februaryfest," which is what he calls a "German Oktoberfest when you have it in February."
