Monday, Feb. 8
•The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors is holding their monthly meeting this evening at 7 p.m. in the high school library.
•The Toby Creek Water Association is holding a meeting tonight at 8 p.m. at ProChemTech International Inc. on Fermantown Rd. in Brockway.
Wednesday, Feb. 10
•St. Joseph's Church in Force is hosting a Lenten fish fry today from noon-6:30 p.m. and every Friday during Lent. Haddock fish dinners are $11 and $6 for children age 10 and under. Dinners include haddock fish (baked or fried), choice of potato (baked or French fries), a cup of soup, dinner roll, cole slaw, dessert and drink. Soup and drink not included in takeout.
•The Gen. Edward C Meyer Chapter 948 Vietnam Veterans of America will be holding their monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the St. Marys Legion along Center Street. All veterans are cordially invited to attend.
Friday, Feb. 12
•All schools closed in the St. Marys Area School District for a teacher inservice day.
Saturday, Feb. 13
•A benefit dance for the Kline-Wall-Cherry Family will be held on Saturday, Feb.13 at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall. There will be a Chinese Auction from 6-9 p.m. The Band Comin' In Hot will perform from 9 to midnight.
•The St. Marys Public Library is hosting Glow in the Dark Mini-Golf 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The golf course will be on both levels of the library and will be played in the dark. Glow sticks will outline the course and glow in the dark golf balls will be used. Cost will be $5 per person or $20 per family. Children under the age of 12 must be with an adult; children under the age of 2 golf for free. Additional glow accessories will be available for purchase. A small lunch will be sold to participants, for $3 including a hot dog, chips and beverage. The library will be closed for normal business that day.
•Multiphasic blood screenings is taking place today from 6 a.m.-9:30 a.m. at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall. Registration is preferred. Walk-ins welcome. To register call 834-4570 or 1-800-565-9200 ext. 4570. The event is sponsored by the Johnsonburg Rotary and Kane Community Hospital.
•Learn to ice skate at Parker Dam State Park today starting at 10 a.m. at the beach house. Learn the basics of getting around on the ice and being more confident on skates. For those without skates, the park has a large variety of equipment that you may borrow.
At 1 p.m. a learn to cross-country ski session is taking place at the Environmental Education Classroom. Learn how to enjoy this winter sport with the whole family. Learn why the cross-country skis work the way they do, how to get strapped onto the proper-sized equipment, and then go outside to practice turns, falling down, getting back up, and various techniques to get you started. Equipment is available for both adults and kids (limited number and sizes). Dress appropriately for being active outdoors. There is a fee to participate.
•The Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette is hosting an "All About Elk" presentation today at 1 p.m. Learn about the rich history of elk in Pennsylvania and about their ecology in the state. Hopefully the elk will make an appearance in our viewing areas to top off the day with some elk watching.

•The Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette is hosting a "Loyal in Love" Powerpoint presentation today at 1 p.m. Enjoy this “Valentine-theme” PowerPoint presentation on various species of animals world-wide that actually mate for life. Learn about the many kinds of birds and mammals that remain dedicated to each other throughout their entire lifespans. Even though elk don’t mate for life, we will end the program talking about some of their mating rituals and habits.
